The Oarhouse was rocking to the playlist last night, hooked up my iPod to the house system and played the Decemberists, Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, and The White Stripes. Mon was there and he was beginning to stand by himself with just a bit of assistance, but he was happy and bobbing his head up and down to the music alongside two tables of Peace Corps regulars, Jimmy, Dong, Ronnie Lazaro, Red Constantino, Butch Aldana, Carlos Celdran and the other photographers and everybody else who drifted in last night.
it was the Oar at its typical best and liveliest. and yes, no pictures while we're having fun. ;-)
and some notes on the aural joys and lyrical delights of 'Icky Thump', the White Stripes' latest album just released last June 18.
