Photojournalist 'Recentisms' :-)

Evelien Kunst of World Press Photo Foundation talks photojournalism with photographers at The Oar

World Press Photo Exhibit Opening in Manila at Ayala Museum, Wednesday, May 10, 2006

Recentisms -- is there such a word? Well to bring everyone up to speed with who's been dropping by the Oar lately, the latest buzz of activity was last week when Evelien Kunst of the Education Department of the Netherlands-based World Press Photo Foundation flew into town to open the World Press Photo Exhibit presently touring worldwide, now on show at the Ayala Museum from May 11 to June 4, 2006. After the ribbon cutting ceremonies at Ayala last Wednesday night, Evelien and friends came over to the Oar for dinner, cold beers, and welcome greetings all around. Thanks to photographer colleague, friend and mentor Gil Nartea of the Philippine Center for Photojournalism for providing the event's images.
