Explosions of the Eye

Man I hate it when this happens. My head explodes in absolute rage and anger at what's happening, and then I wake up with the classic 'red eye'.

It's probably the combination of current events, and the massive intake of San Miguel Pale Pilsens NIGHTLY.

No, I was told, after a second opinion by an opthalmologist today. It's blood pressure.

So I have to calm down. Or go back to the times when I didn't really have anything or anyone to take issue with. Just the plain act of simple observation should be sufficient. We are, after all, just eyewitnesses in the world, and not its judges. I remember a book I once read in my youth, called 'Mr. Blue', whose most memorable line goes 'Today we have to fight a state of mind'. It made me realize that for all the things happening and its consequences, the thing 'feared' or 'inevitable' may not necessarily have anything to do with the occurence that happens in someone's life itself. Just the lesson that it is a great mistake to think that a country is just about who its present leader is, and on a larger scale, to imagine that 'God is chiefly interested in just religion'. The great Christian writer, G.K. Chesterton wrote, 'At certain strange epochs it is necessary to have another kind of priest, called poets, to remind men that they are not dead yet.'

Yeah I know it's all deep talk. But like the eye, it's about what should be evident and visible just under the surface. About what it truly knows and sees.
